118: Evaluation and Leadership for ELL Equity

Here's what past participants of 118: Evaluation and Leadership for ELL Equity have said about this professional learning experience:
  • This course helped me to refocus on evaluation practices and set the intention to be more explicit with my expectations for staff.  I recommend this course because I think it's a good way to deepen evaluation practices for those supervising teachers of ELLs and share strategies.
  • The structure of the course and valuable feedback from the facilitator allowed me to come away with a toolbox of best practices to address the needs of our students and guide our teaching staff.
  • The course speaks to the importance of collaborative inquiry as a systemic practice for schools which, in turn, reminds us of the need to be comprehensive in our planning.
  • Feedback was prompt (a very good thing); sessions were characterized by good active listening skills.  The idea of collaborative inquiry and the use of the Action Cycle are both good practices.
  • Evaluating with a "language lens" is so important!  Now I know how to do that and to empower other evaluators and coaches to do that, too.
