Core Course 2: Differentiation & Academic Language Instruction

$ 300.00

I learned how to plan language objectives that align with content objectives, the variety of supports and scaffolding that can be provided to ELLs at different language levels.  I found this to be extremely informative and I'm excited to share what I learned with my colleagues.  --Elizabeth Lindsey, Teacher

The domain analysis is a helpful tool that I will include in my weekly planning to ensure that I support all my learners in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is a user-friendly tool that will help me hold myself accountable so I don't inadvertently gloss over any of the four areas.  --Jennifer Wheeler, Teacher

The article entitled “Confianza Mindset Check” states this beautiful when it says, “What we think affects our behaviors. We need to have both trust and confidence in ourselves and in our students so that we can all learn to our potential.” Sometimes teaching can be challenging, and it takes a great deal of faith as well as confidence to keep trying.  --Rebecca McGraw, Teacher

In order to plan and deliver effective, meaningful instruction for ELLs, educators need to understand academic language and targeted supports for a language-rich classroom.   In this interactive and engaging mini-course held on, participants will learn and apply research-based strategies for intentionally planning instruction with specific academic language goals. Participants will generate content-specific fieldwork and a personalized "action cycle" implementation plan for new learning to immediately impact teaching practice and ELL learning outcomes.

This course is great for individuals OR teams of educators to take together--content and/or ELL/ESL Specialists & coaches!
